About Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Biggerstaff, DNP, FNP, MPH brings over two decades of experience as a nurse, activist, and educator. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she has worked in rural family practice and opiate use treatment, demonstrating a dedication to improving healthcare access for underserved communities. Dr. Biggerstaff also serves as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Pacific Lutheran University, where she mentors and teaches the next generation of nurses. Dedicated to community activism, she has led efforts advocating for immigrant rights and universal healthcare and has shared her insights through publications and presentations at national and international forums.
